Therapy for Parents

Are you dealing with sleepless nights? Toddler tantrums? Emotional volatility? Peer influence and relationships? Planning for the future when it seems like just yesterday you were celebrating first words or starting school?

Parenting can be incredibly rewarding, and incredibly difficult! I’m a parent myself; I’ve experienced the joys and the challenges.

Parents face many challenges that change with each stage of childhood development. We can discuss the stressors you’re facing, which may include dealing with sleep deprivation, balancing work and family life, facing behavioral difficulties, experiencing financial strain, navigating different parenting styles, trying to figure out time management and priorities, managing screen time and technology, or trying to find time for yourself.

Some of the ways that therapy can support parents include:

  • Coping with stress and burnout

  • Developing skills such as communication techniques and behavior management strategies

  • Navigating life transitions, such as new parenthood, changes to family constellation, or changes that occur with new developmental stages

  • Facilitating self-exploration and growth

  • Exploring and reflecting on factors that may be contributing to challenges, such as experiences, beliefs, behavior patterns, and parenting style

  • Building resilience to help you bounce back from setbacks and manage adversity

  • Addressing presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, or relationship conflicts that may affect parenting

  • Identifying your needs and attending to your well-being

Every parent faces unique hurdles. I’ve worked with parents of young children, teens, and young adults. I support parents of neurotypical kids and neurodivergent kids. I’m committed to creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can explore and process your concerns, as well as work collaboratively with me to come up with practical solutions.
